About Sara 
SARA LANDEAU is a guitarist, composer, drummer, band coach, music programmer, and teacher in NYC. 


Her new band in the process of recording is The Julie Ruin along with Kathleen Hanna, Kathi Wilcox, Kenny Mellman, and Carmine Covelli. 

Training included 16+ years of private lessons, as well as several years of theory and guitar courses at schools such as The Juilliard School and The New School Jazz Department in NYC. She started in art school, then received a B.A. in Art History before teaching guitar and music full time around 2004.

She is a music program coordinator, band coach, and contributing guitar teacher for the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls in Brooklyn NY and Ladies Rock Camp since it came to New York City in 2005. She has also taught guitar and band coached for the Austin Rock Camp for Girls.

Learning Annex NYC seminars include "How to Read Music in One Night" and "Learn to Play Guitar." Her courses were written up in the Village Voice Best of Education Issue. Film works includes the role of a jazz guitarist in the Julia Roberts film "Mona Lisa Smiles." She also works as a consultant for actors playing musicians in films.

She has co-produced and worked with several bands, musicians, and students who have gone on to have #1 hits in Europe and the US. Several of her high school and college bound students have been accepted at LaGuardia High School in NYC (for music) and Berklee.

Currently teaches kids as young as 8 up to adults. Specializes in adults learning an instrument for the first time.
